Ambulance Remounts: Why It’s Worth It
What is involved in an ambulance remount?
When you do an ambulance remount, you basically are taking the modular box off an old chassis and placing it onto a new chassis. Beyond that process, the upgrades or restoration made to the older modular box can range from just some new paint to all new electrical, lighting, or other technology components. This helps the client match their budget with the upgrades their ambulance needs.
Why should you do an ambulance remount instead of buying a brand new ambulance?
The bottom line is that remounting an ambulance saves you a lot of money! With the given economy and departments looking for the most efficient ways to spend their precious budget, getting an ambulance remounted instead of buying a new one will cost considerably less. There is no doubt that a smart option to reducing costs while continuing to deliver the same level of superior service is a remount service for your existing fleet of rescue vehicles.

New Genesis Rescue High Strength Steel (HSS) NXTGen Blade Inserts
If you were wondering where the future of cutting technology is going, look no further than the new Genesis NXTGen High Strength Steel blade inserts. With these inserts, the blades can be replaced in minutes and at a price about a third of the current cost for new blades. These blades have been specially designed to cut high strength steel (HSS) and have gone through years of extensive research and development along with relentless testing to achieve just that.
Recent tests on the latest and strongest car posts (including the Mercedes CLK) have acted as a testimony to the ability of this tool. It was even able to make multiple successful cuts through the A-post of the new Audi A3 with no deformation of the cutting edge. Many firefighters and experienced rescue personnel will be familiar with these specific examples and be able to appreciate the strength it takes to cut through them not only once but repeatedly.
Not only are these new blades effective but they are cost-efficient as well. The cutter blade is one of the most expensive components of a cutter tool. Damage and deformation of a generic blade becomes very obvious after just a single attempt to cut high strength steel. When this deformation happens, it can lead to blade separation or breakage which of course would affect the cutting performance of that blade.
The new Genesis Rescue NXTGen Blade inserts are able to remain sharp during the life of the tool and are made from high strength steel themselves. If the blade would ever need replaced, it would cost approximately one-third of the cost of a conventional cutter blade in today's market.
Here at Nassau Fire Apparatus, we can schedule a demo of these blades at work for you and your department to witness the strength and durability they have against high strength steel posts that are becoming more and more common in rescue scenes today. These blades will mount on any C236 Cutter body and are so new they aren't even available on the market yet!
